Replaying 2024
2024 wasn’t that terrible of a year, all things considered. Every year I usually feel the same, but I don’t know, I think I changed for the better within the past year. Yeah right, who am I kidding? Anyways, that’s enough reflecting. Here are some of my most notable moments of the past year:
Best of literature: Read zero books to their entirety, while my book list has 1293 books in it.
Best of television: Fell asleep while watching Elf for the first time.
Best of nature: Ate raw fish without knowing it was raw fish and was confused about the texture.
Best of academics: Started to enjoy math again (except for linear algebra - THAT’S NOT MATH).
Best of technology: Took the most perfect picture of myself ever.
Best of me: Got over my fear of male mallards after being surrounded by them one afternoon.
Best of travel: Fell asleep on the bus and missed my transfer but somehow woke up at my final destination.
Best of sports: Gave up on running as a hobby.
Best of art: Made a friend cry with the card I made for their birthday.
Best of music: Failed to get tickets to see my favorite band.
After writing all of this I realized most of these occurred during the second half of the year. Recency bias, I guess.
Also, I’m being vague on purpose. I don’t mind sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world, but my memories? Those are mine to keep.
